A 31-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after shocking footage emerged showing a toddler being violently thrown to the ground at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport.
According to Russian police, the suspect—reported to be a foreign national from Belarus—was detained at the scene and is believed to have been under the influence of drugs at the time of the attack.
The incident occurred in the airport’s arrivals hall. Surveillance video appears to show the man standing near a two-year-old boy before suddenly grabbing the child by the legs and slamming him onto the floor.
The footage then shows the man calmly stepping forward, putting on sunglasses, and extending his arms outward while the toddler lies motionless behind him.
The child was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries, including skull and spinal fractures. Authorities have confirmed he is now in a stable condition, and there are no signs of brain damage.
Police stated that the suspect was in transit at the airport and awaiting a connecting flight. During questioning, he reportedly said he could not explain his actions.
